Welcome to Fitness Warrior Wear, which is a venture I started with ideas from my supporters on my weight loss and fitness blog after blogging about the lack of sufficient plus size exercise clothing on the market.

When I started working out with a trainer back in November of 2009, I had trouble finding workout shirts that fit right and made me feel good about myself and what I saw in the gym mirrors. I was too focused on how my workout shirt was uncomfortable and how silly I looked in it!

The Big Girl's Workout Shirt Dilemma

Hovering around 270 lbs. when I first began my quest to get fit, I struggled to find workout shirts that fit properly! The problems with the available gym t-shirts on the market were: lousy fit (constant riding up), crummy material the shirts were made of (itchy or easily shrunk when washed), and the lack of a viable v-neck option (crew necks tended to choke).

Why did all plus size shirts have to be short in length and ride up? Why couldn't I find some good v-neck or scoop neck shirts that didn't come from the men's department at Wal-Mart that weren't white and virtually see-through when sweating?

Thus began my journey of trying varying fabrics, shirt brands - and the creation of the FITNESS WARRIOR logo. Hey, I had to have something inspiring to put on the clothing, right?!

After having tried dozens of different brands, I finally settled on one brand that I really liked: the Alternative brand. The fabric was breathable (but not stretchy or confining like the sweat wicking fabric can be) and after many washes the fabric kept it's original shape and didn't shrink. I finally had a winner!

I spent an additional four months testing out the Alternative brand workout t-shirts and hoodies in the gym. I absolutely love these shirts. I wear them every time I workout - and I find myself wearing them outside of the gym too!

After being sick of using scratchy and itchy community gym towels, I also decided to find some exceptional gym towels that I could put the FITNESS WARRIOR logo on. Catch was, they needed to be really durable, absorbent and soft. I settled on Anvil for the gym towels and I assure you, you will not be disappointed in their quality.
